This Rocky Mountain Construction hybrid coaster has started testing! It's very exciting to see that Wicked Cyclone has begun testing, because that means the coaster is one step closer to opening. The major work that still remains is to complete the repaint of the white wooden structure to a stormy grey. Other than that, after a few weeks of testing, Wicked Cyclone should be ready to run! I could definitely see this coaster opening sometime around Memorial day weekend, so it won't be too much longer until the rage of Wicked Cyclone is unleashed!
Above is an overhead view of Wicked Cyclone's first test run, which was shot by Six Flags New England. It may seem as the train doesn't travel through its course at full "Rocky Mountain Construction" speed, but keep in mind that this is the first test run ever, and the speed will only increase from here. Also, since the majority of the coaster's airtime hills are fairly small and short, there isn't a need to have the trains hurtling down the tracks - the riders should get enough thrills with a lower speed. In about June when the weather is hot, this coaster will probably be flying through the course, and deliver the quick action packed coaster we all love. This layout looks like it has the full potential to deliver, so once the coaster speeds up, the ride experience should truly be wicked!
