Throughout the winter snowflakes fall, the ground sits frozen. The coasters lay dormant in the winter sky. Energy from the spring crowds is far away, everything seems so hopeless. All we can do is wait for the first signs of spring. Leaves budding, grass peeking from underneath snow that has kept spring from coming too soon. The next step is to book a trip, to get that thrill we have been waiting for all winter.
The thrill of seeing a coaster run for a few test runs in the morning before the park opens fills me up with excitement. A roar of the coaster surrounds the air, and the noise becomes familiar to me again, I have not heard it in such a long time. The feel of riding the coaster, seems so vague after a full off-season. I do not remember how it feels to ride a coaster, I must become a coaster enthusiast once again. I can't wait to see how my first coaster of the season will ride. All I can do is pull down the bar, wait for the rails of the coaster to come alive, and let it take me through its journey.
Coasters are my passion. It's what I do, it's who I am.
