During President's Day weekend, I headed out to Colorado for a skiing trip. Skiing doesn't technically fall into the "roller coaster" category, but it does provide some good thrills in the off-season and ended up being a great trip.
First run of the day!
Christmas Tree Gulley Had some fresh powder and a nice steepness to it.
Here's a good idea of how steep it is.
End of the run. Luckily the rock area was roped off so I didn't accidentally ski off a cliff.
This is the view from the mountain. One of the landmarks that can be seen is called the Sleeping Giant. It is on the right in this photo: (The giant's head is on the left of the mountain, feet on the right).
Heading up the lift for a break at the Thunderhead Lodge.
Ah..... Hot chocolate sure does taste good on a cold day!
