This past Sunday, I was at the park to check out the new flat ride section, but unfortunately the section did not open. So, instead of an opening report, I have another construction update. The rides are almost complete, and they even started testing, so that is definitely an indication that they will open soon. Also, the Hometown Square area was looking better, and the train that circles the park was moving today, so it should open soon also.
The train station in the plaza was also looking nice, and the lights inside the station were on, so hopefully this is a sign the train will open soon - I saw it running at the park, but there were no guests aboard, so I presume it was just testing. There was a sign near the ride informing guests that the train would open from 12:00 pm through 8:00 pm, but to my knowledge the chains were never removed from the train's entrance, and it did not open.
Above is a quick video of the Red Baron planes coming down after a test flight.
The Ladybug ride started testing as well, so here's a view of that. I apologize that the fence is in the way, but for the most part, this video captures the ride's motion fairly well.
Lastly, Here's a video of Tot's Livery - I really like the lights on this ride and how they reflect on the water!
Although this section did not open when I was there, I would expect it to definitely open up next week or sooner. There is still not any official announcement on the opening, but since all of the rides are testing and minuscule details remain, they crews should be able to open this section soon. So, hopefully next week I'll be able to report on the opening, but if for whatever reason it does not open, I'll post another construction update.
