Over the past few days, San Antonio's Six Flags Fiesta Texas has been building the hype for their 2015 attraction. The rumors are that the new attraction will be a coaster, as The park confirmed that MotoRama, an antique car ride, is scheduled to close forever soon, which would accommodate for a moderately sized coaster. Below is my analysis of the hints that fiesta Texas has dropped so far.
As a part of the teaser, Fiesta Texas is currently flying a bright yellow balloon above the park, at a height of 106 feet. The balloon used to be at a height of 92.5 feet, so it is growing in height. There is currently a large bundle of rope at the base of the balloon, so the height of the balloon could be increased very soon. The balloon's height could symbolize the height of the coaster, or something else more specific or vague. If it does symbolize height, the coaster would most likely be moderately sized in height (100-200 feet). My guess, however, is that the balloon symbolizes something entirely different, that being a flying coaster. The balloon is currently flying over Fiesta Texas, so a flying coaster would make sense. The second part of the campaign is a small building in the Rockville section of the park that is has a "For Lease" sign hanging in the window, with the phone number 210-697-5478, which is a real number with a recording that says: "Thank you for calling Rockville Realty, where a great big beautiful tomorrow begins today. If you are travelling through the greater Rockville area, please be aware of street closures and detours as our urban renewal project flips into high gear. Also, have you been wondering why a mysterious balloon is flying high above Rockville? That's because *white noise* Doesn't that sound exciting? As a reminder, prime street-front realty locations are still available. Have you ever imagined owning your own downtown boutique shop or your own classic movie theater? Is your life boring or mundane? If so, then our new Rockville renovations and renewal projects are going to be just what you are looking for. Be a part of the history in the making, and stay tuned for additional information. Thanks again for calling Rockville Reality: a division of ace and associates."
In the above recording, A few things stuck out at me as possible hints. At the start of the message, where it reads out "where a great big beautiful tomorrow begins today". That reminded me of the Gotham City (some Six Flags parks have a Gotham City section) slogan, building a better tomorrow, today. Could that mean that the Rockville section would be re-themed to Gotham city? Would that mean that the new coaster is Batman themed? We really have no way of knowing, but those guesses would definitely fit in the park as Fiesta Texas has neither a Gotham City section nor a Batman themed ride, so I would bring something new to the park. Also, the quote, "Are you ready for new thrilling challenges? " Stuck out at me as a hint for a thrilling attraction. At my home park, there are recordings that say "Thank you for challenging _______________ coaster" That is essentially what the quote from the message stated, so I think this is further confirmation of a thrilling roller coaster on our hands. The MotoRama antique cars will close on August 10th, so we can possibly look construction to start then. My final prediction from the hints is a batman-themed custom flying roller coaster with a possible launch to spice up the thrills. Six Flags plans to announce their plans chain-wide on August 28th, so look for a write-up from myself then, with all of the new for 2015 attractions at each park, including Six Flags Fiesta Texas's highly hyped attraction.
Coasters are my passion. It's what I do, it's who I am.
