Goliath update number four is here! On Sunday, I visited Six Flags Great America to have a look at Goliath's construction first hand. What I saw was a busy crew working on the lift structure, dive loop structure, the electrical work for the station, and the magnetic brakes that will slow the riders at the end of their ride. It appeared that all hands were on deck, even on a Sunday, which means that the crew is working hard to open the coaster on May 29th.
One of the members from the construction crew was working with a tape measure and recording his "findings" on a piece of paper. I am almost positive he was working on part of a new line queue system, because the old Iron Wolf queue won't cut it when it comes to Goliath - a sure to be amazing coaster that could have very long waits in the summer.
Coasters are my passion. It's what I do, it's who I am.
