Goliath, a new coaster that is preparing to open a Six Flags Great America, is shaping up to be a great looking ride. I was at Six Flags this past weekend, where I took a few photos of Goliath. The construction crew has completed many tasks since my last report, including placing two segments of lift structures onto the existing structure, mounting brakes on the brake run, and installing the sign for Goliath that will invite guests to take a ride.
The view of the dive loop has not changed since last week. I don't know if the construction crew plans to leave the exposed track near the top of the loop exposed without supports, or they plan to add some steel beams to add stability, but by the way the wood bents jut out, it looks like they might have more to do.
In the above video, David from Six Flags interviews John Krajnak, the director of marketing, who answers some questions about the ride. There are also many views of the ride including a shot of one part of the train on the tracks.
Coasters are my passion. It's what I do, it's who I am.
