Cedar Point, located on the shores of Lake Erie, in Sandusky, Ohio may be adding a dive coaster to their lineup of attractions for 2016. A dive coaster is essentially a quick thrill coaster with an incredible drop followed by some inversions. Apparently, the park has contacted B&M, a manufacturer of these such rides, so the dive coaster could definitely be a possibility. Also, the park has cleared a fairly large section of the park, further backing up the possibility of a dive coaster. The current estimated budget is set at 15 million, which could buy a good sized, quality dive coaster with multiple inversions and drops.
Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Fiesta Texas is almost ready to start track work. The construction team has been working on the foundation (the concrete sections that the coaster's supports lock on to, keeping the coaster up), and they are almost done. Also, Six Flags has released a new animation video for Batman. The front row view is now shown, as it would appear while riding. In a few months, Batman will be ready to soar!
Just about a year a go I started this blog, and It has been a great first year. I've learned many new things about this hobby and I'm not looking back. There have been many enjoyable moments over the past year, but below are some highlights of my journeys since starting this site. Also, you can vote in a poll asking what you would like to see more of in Journey Through Coaster's Future years.
Cannibal. . . the name may seem unfamiliar, that's because it really is. Just until a few months ago, this coaster wasn't talked about, because the extent of it was a secret kept by Lagoon. Construction moved into high gear, and the secrets were released. A massive structure with a steep drop and several inversions. Just recently, the park released some photos of the construction that are just stunning in the least. With out an official announcement, there isn't much hype over this coaster, but I could definitely see it becoming an underdog for new coasters in 2015 and really come as a surprise.
Coasters are my passion. It's what I do, it's who I am.
